Cookie Class

COOKIE CLASS - This is a fun relaxing class. In this class the participant will receive 9 different shaped ready baked cookies plus practice biscuits. Participants will observe demonstrations of piping techniques suitable for a variety of themed cookies. Topics covered in class include how to use a piping bag, how to make royal icing, its consistencies and suitability of consistency to the chosen design, floodwork, variety of colour mediums, edible petal dusts, cake pens, edible enhancements.

All ingredients and equipment is available to the participant while in the studio.

Tea, coffee, chilled water is available throughout the class. There is a break at approximately 12.30. It is suggested participants bring along snacks or a sandwich to eat during the break)

Time 10.30 am to 3.30pm

Suitable for ages 13+ (under 16 to be accompanied by an adult participating family member)

Cost: $50 per person

Position in class is guaranteed once payment for the class is received and cleared.

Participants will take home all of their masterpieces. PLEASE BRING A TRAY to layout your masterpieces ready for safe transport home.

Felt Bag

FELT BAG - In this class participants will learn the ancient craft of felt making using modern methods. This is a hands on class, and is an energetic process. Participants are provided with all materials and instruction to complete a felt bag. The approximate completed size of the bag is 22cm x 22cm (8 1/2 “ x 8 1/2”) .

Demonstrations and instruction is provided to enable the participant to complete their project.

Topics discussed and applied include:  Wet felting technique, planning your design, what is a resist and its uses, how to prepare and use pre-felts, how to select and use natural fibres, non wool fibres and how embellishments can enhance a project.         

This class is suitable for ages 15+

Time: 10.30 to 3.30

Cookie Workshop

Cookie Workshop. This is no cure for Covid but this workshop can put a smile on your dial. The workshop will provide the skills and knowledge to produce a variety of fun cookies. There will be demonstrations of piping techniques suitable to decorate the cookies. Each participant will receive 9 different shaped ready baked cookies.

While in the workshop participants will have access to equipment and ingredients necessary to complete their cookies.

In this workshop you will become familiar with royal icing, royal icing consistencies and their uses.

There will be a variety of decorations, edible petal dusts & colourings available to enhance the cookies.

Each participant will take home a minimum of 9 decorated cookies. All you need to bring is a tray to take home your completed masterpieces.

Suitable for ages 13+ (children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult participating family member))

There will be a 15 minute break mid way (tea, coffee, water is provided) It is suggested you bring a snack, piece of fruit or a sandwich when having a break.

Cost is $50 per person

Macaron Magic is a 4.5 hour workshop.  This workshop provides you with the skills and knowledge to make macarons from scratch.  No packet mixes here!.  This workshop teaches the participants the Italian macaron method.  This is a full filled hands on workshop with yummy sample tasting.  You get to take home some of these delicious special treats. Sugar roses are so popular on celebration cakes.  This is a four hour hands on class where participants learn to make sugar modelling paste, learn how to use cake decorating equipment to form and shape a simple dog rose, a formal stem rose and a two tone rose.  You will learn the art of colouring these edible flowers with beautiful food safe petal dusts.  You will be provided with all necessary equipment and consumables to complete your projects.  Enjoy your afternoon with like minded people.  Afternoon tea is included.

Sugar flowers

Discover the art of making beautiful edible sugar flowers and leaves from the winner 2015 Royal Canberra Show Grand Champion Cake decorator.

Whilst in the studio you will be provided with all required equipment to make and present your flowers and leaves, you are NOT required to purchase any tools or equipment for this workshop. Flower types will be selected from a list suitable to attendees skill level.  Flowers may include any of the following:  Gerbera, two tone dog roses, frangipani, blossoms, daffodil.

  • you will be provided with a recipe for modelling paste
  • learn how to use and store modelling paste
  • learn how to shape, mould and form petals and leaves
  • learn a variety of colouring techniques to achieve amazing looking flowers and leaves
  • learn how to arrange your completed flowers and leaves on a small presentation board

Choux pastry class - Learn how to make choux pastry to produce Chocolate Eclairs, Profiteroles, Choux Swans, Croquembouche.  This is a very hands on class.

Macaron Madness - Learn the art of making delicious Italian Macarons.  This is a very hands on class and is suitable for ages 16+.  Learn the importance of selecting and preparing the right ingredients to ensure a great product.  Learn how to prepare, colour and pipe your macaron shells.  Take a break with arvo tea and taste test a variety of macarons.  finally you will fill and complete your macarons to take home.  All ingredients and equipment is provided during the class. What you take home:  a minimum of six macarons plus a piping bag and tube.
